How to Turn Receipts and Screenshots into a Subscription List
Turn selected receipts and screenshots into a deduplicated list, then confirm the biller, amount, cycle, renewal date, and active status.
Use receipts as clues, then verify the list
Selected receipts and screenshots can seed a subscription list, but a past receipt is historical evidence, not proof that a subscription is active today. Extract the useful fields, remove duplicates, and confirm current status with the store, wallet, or provider.
Collect evidence you control
Gather recent purchase receipts, renewal notices, account screenshots, and payment confirmations that you are authorised to use. Keep the original date and source visible. Do not assume that every purchase is recurring or that an old screenshot reflects the current plan.
For each candidate, record the provider, billing owner, purchasing account, amount, currency, billing cycle, renewal date, receipt date, and a safe identifier such as the final characters of an order number. Do not copy a full payment-card number or password into the list.
Deduplicate before deciding status
Compare service, account, amount, date, and statement descriptor. The same service may appear under two accounts, while a family plan may generate receipts for one organiser but cover several people. Merge only records that clearly describe the same subscription and keep conflicting evidence for review.
Return to the current Apple, Google Play, wallet, or provider account. Mark each item active, cancelled, expired, or unknown using the status and next date shown there. A receipt alone is not enough to choose active.
